Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) experiments were conducted on samples taken from thermoset polymer specimens after frontal ring-opening metathesis polymerization (FROMP) to determine glass transition temperature and evaluate for plasticization. Polymerization resins comprised of dicyclopentadiene (DCPD) with 5 wt% 5-ethylidene-2-norbornene (ENB) added, grubbs’ second generation catalyst, and tributyl phosphite (TBP) inhibitor (8000:1:1 monomer:initiator:inhibitor ratio). Polymerization fronts were triggered using concentrated solutions of grubbs’ third generation catalyst in various solvents.
